Great food and great service. If you are looking for authentic Punjabi food this is where you need to go!
Great Food. Authentic Punjabi sweets and Indian food. This is where you need to get food.
Fantastic, hole in the wall type restaurant. Great for take out order ahead though.
I agree with all of the above. The food is fantastic especially in a place like Oakville!
I was horrified when I noticed cockroach coming out from the kitchen of this restaurant!
So disappointed with this restaurant. We decided we were in the mood for a curry this Friday night, so I looked up Indian restaurants in Oakville and stumbled across some reviews for Punjabi Indian Sweets. Based on the previous reviews we placed an order. We ordered 2 samosas, an order of Chicken Pakora, 2 Butter Chicken, a Pilau Rice, a Garlic Nan, and Spiced Onions and Raita.
The woman on the phone was very polite and friendly.
We got our food home and started to dish it out. We opened the Raita first, and it was actually curdled! The chickpeas were very mushy and the yogurt was runny and separating. Not good at all. We didn't eat the Raita, which was a waste of 4 dollars. We then discovered that they did not give us our Samosas which we had already paid for. We were a 20 minute drive away, so we couldn't go back to the store and couldn't be bothered for 1.00. It was just annoying that we wasted our money and that the restaurant didn't give us what we had ordered.
The spiced onions were very dry. It was just like a bit of cayenne pepper on some dry onions. No sauce at all.
The Pilau Rice had a lot of uncooked, crunchy, green peas(50% peas to 50% rice) which made it very difficult to eat.
The chicken pakora was very soggy. It tasted like it was possibly microwaved. It was basically just deep fried chicken strips purchased from the supermarket. I wouldn't recommend.
This brings me to the entree. The Butter chicken which we read was the "best butter chicken ever", was anything but. It tasted like Campbells tomato soup with a splash of cream. I didn't detect any butter flavour, and it wasn't creamy and rich like butter chicken should be. I have never had a tomato based butter chicken before. The sauce was separating and very watery which made me believe that it had possibly been frozen.
All in all, we spent 50.00. For that price we could have had a lovely meal out in Oakville, instead we wasted our money on food that we couldn't even eat. We attempted to eat some of it, but we both left our plates completely full.
The best part of the meal was the garlic naan bread, but really how could you mess up bread?
Very disappointing. I just wish I had my money back. I will never go back to this restaurant again. I will never recommend it to anyone ever. Please save your money and eat somewhere else.
Great food, the samosas are amazing! my family and I got there all the time! The chicken tikka masala is really good. The chana masala is delicious and was recommended to me by some friends from herbal magic, its healthy and tastes amazing.
